Attend is a national charity that supports and expands the roles volunteers play in creating healthy communities.

We want to see a world of healthy communities supported by active individuals.
We believe that the world is a better place when no one feels like a “service user”. A world where everyone works together, and with a wider objective than just themselves, to build a better society for all. That may be a real cross-section of people together, such as with our member groups in hospitals, or one distinct community of interest, like our work supporting people with an acquired brain injury.
In 2006 Attend developed the first nationally accredited programmes tailored to volunteer management. Since then, over 1500 individuals have completed Attend’s CIPD and ILM programmes in volunteer management. Attend are now working with the CMI to tailor Level 5 programmes in Management and Leadership for those responsible for managing volunteering programmes within their organisation. Accessible via distance learning, these programme involve regular participation through on-line webinars where learners can share experiences and discuss key issues. Comprehensive 1-1 support is also provided by the course tutor via email and telephone contact.
